Happy New Year 2025! Hope you all have the best year yet! With the new year starting, it is also the time for any bookworm to have their eyes on the lookout on what books are going to hit the shelves real soon. Here are some of the most buzziest, anticipated releases of this year.

  1. Onyx Storm (Empyrean Book #3)

    ree

If you’re looking for a current book that has the literary community going on a frenzy, then this is the one that you have to add to your shopping bag. This hotly anticipated sequel of Iron Flame is releasing out into the public on January 21st of this year and has many romance fans eagerly waiting. Violet Sorrengail, the protagonist of the Empyrean saga, must journey outside of the known world she knows and find allies that are willing to side with Navarre. It is said that this book will feature highly intense battles, unknown groups unfamiliar with Navarre (highly likely new characters, we’ll see), and an inner power that Violet has to control as she journeys through new conflict. This is a must buy for anyone interested in a trending saga or romance in general.

  2. Never Flinch

    ree

It seems that the King of Horror himself never exhausts when it comes to delivering another gripping, horror novel. Be sure to get a hold of this novel on May 27th of this year. This horrifying novel follows two intertwining storylines— one of a vengeful asass in out on a revenge quest, while the other is of a vigilante attempting to take down a celebrity speaker with ties to feminism. If you ever read Holly, King’s novel that came out in 2023, you’re in for a treat since the beloved Holly Gibner comes back on the ride with a new cast of characters.

  3. Mark Twain

    ree

The Washington biography, written by Ron Chernow, is on my reading list of 2025 for a reason and that is because Ron Chernow is a well-known historian capable of writing some of the best biographies when it comes to delving into the lives of the greatest Americans to have ever graced the nation. I’m sure that he’ll deliver the same with this masterful biography of one of the best writers in American literature when it comes out on May 13th of this year. It is interesting to know early on that Mark Twain wasn’t interested in writing at first. His wish was to pilot steamboats on the Mississippi River, but things took a turn when he earned a job at the local newspaper and started writing humorous dispatches. Little did he know that his talent with the pen would cement his reputation as one of America’s masterful writer.

  4. Sunrise on the Reaping

    ree

The Hunger Games has become one of the most popular and successful sagas in modern literature. With each book, the saga has built its massive fanbase and has film adaptations with an overall grossing of $3.3 billion worldwide. With the original saga completed, Sunrise on the Reaping is another prequel set 24 years before the events of the first Hunger Games book released on 2008. This prequel releases on March 18th of this year. For anyone looking to reminisce the era of the Hunger Games saga, be sure to add this dystopian novel in your shopping bag.

  5. Source Code: My Beginnings

    ree

This is one that shocked me to make it on this list of the anticipated books of this year, but we’re finally getting a memoir/autobiography from one of the richest philanthropists in these times. Bill Gates will give us a truthful look into his early life and the experiences that shaped him towards the figure he is today. There is no final confirmation date, though the book is slated to be released on February 2025. If you spot this book on the shelves, please give it a read to learn valuable life lessons from the man himself.

THIS IS MY LIST FOR THE FIVE MOST ANTICIPATED BOOKS FOR 2025. COMMENT ON WHAT BOOK YOU’RE LOOKING FORWARD FOR THIS YEAR.
